First Run: Amtrak ALC-42 Siemens Charger Locomotive 302

The ALC-42 is a new diesel-electric passenger locomotive built by Siemens Mobility for use on Amtrak's long distance rail routes. In February of 2022, after several months of testing, the first locomotives entered service. Come along as we follow Amtrak 302, the first ALC-42 to lead a train, from Wenatchee to Seattle, Washington as it pulls the Empire Builder train up and over Stevens Pass and along Puget Sound. We will see the train at several different locations on its journey as well as back in downtown Seattle as it prepares for its next trip over the railroad.
