Mastering the Extemp Intro w/ Sasha Morel

Extemp is one of the more daunting events for novices: low prep, but high expectations. Often, judges will be able to make out the difference between novices and experienced extempers in just the first few moments of the speech.

This lecture provides the blueprint for every extemp intro you’ll ever give. We’ll analyze national final intros, prep some intros, and run some drills to smooth out anything else.

Sasha is a seasoned extemper from Plano, Texas. His extemporaneous speaking career has seen TFA semifinals, NIETOC outrounds, the NSDA national tournament, and 6 top 3 finishes in one year alone. Sasha’s also a seasoned coach, having being trained by the Dallas Stars for over 3 years.
