Pachelbel Canon in D Fantasia for hammered dulcimer

Описание к видео Pachelbel Canon in D Fantasia for hammered dulcimer

Timothy Seaman performs his hammered dulcimer solo fantasia based on the chord patterns that form the framework for Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Baroque canon. A blog post has sheet music for this at http://timothyseaman.com/index.php/ti....

The chord pattern happens to include all six of the primary chords in a diatonic key center: I, IV, and V are major triads; II, III, VI are minor triads.

A version of this arrangement including flute improvisations by Seaman can be found on the final track of his holiday CD Profound Joy at http://timothyseaman.com/index.php/di...

The original idea was inspired by George Winston's piano interpretation on his holiday album December --- especially the 'ragtimey' approach. Thanks, George!
