Grid Legends is coming out in February 2022 but thanks to Codemasters and the EA Creator Network I was able to play an early preview version of the game and get a first impression of it already. Here you can see a high score run in a drift event.

Drift events are returning in Grid Legends after being absent in the previous game and they are combining elements of several previous Grid games.

The scoring system is similar to that in the original Race Driver Grid, where you can keep raising your points multiplier to achieve some extremely high scores.

However, the physics in drift events are more similar to those in Grid 2 or Grid Autosport, where the cars don't drift quite as easily as they do in other arcade racing games.

Keep in mind that this video shows an early preview version of the game months before release, so not all details are finalized yet and the video is just there to give people a first impression of the gameplay in Grid Legends. The run was recorded at 1080 60 on the High graphics preset.
