Mr. J Sai Deepak is an engineer-turned-law firm partner-turned-arguing counsel. Sai has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Anna University (2002-06) and a bachelor’s degree in law from IIT Kharagpur (2006-09).

Over the years, Mr. Sai Deepak has been part of several landmark cases. To quote a few,

In 2011, Sai was part of the team which represented Greenpeace India in Tata Sons v. Greenpeace (2011) wherein the Delhi High Court laid down the law on the interplay between Constitutional freedoms and IP Rights.

Since March 2013, Sai has been representing prominent Indian mobile brands against telecom patentees in the ongoing Standard Essential Patent litigation.

In March 2015, Sai successfully led the team which represented the Internet and Mobile Association of India before the Supreme Court in the constitutional challenge to the intermediary liability regime under the Information Technology Act, 2000 in Shreya Singhal v. Union of India.

In July 2020, Sai represented the Chief Tantri of the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple and Indic organizations in a landmark decision wherein the Hon’ble Supreme Court interpreted the 26th Amendment to the Constitution to uphold the rights of the Travancore Royal Family in relation to the Temple.

Since November 2016, Sai has been engaged by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India as an honorary advisor on the implementation of the National IPR Policy.
