Actions that save from the Hell Fire | Abu Bakr Zoud

Since the Hell fire hasn’t and will never be extinguished, we need to be speaking about it everytime, and consistently asking about what will save us from it’s punishment.

In this Khutbah I share the hadith of Abu Thar in where he asked the prophet ﷺ what actions would save a person from the hell fire.

The answer of the Prophet ﷺ will not leave anyone of us except that we can all do something to save ourselves from the punishment of Hell.

The Hadith:
Abu Thar Al-Ghifaari said: “I asked the Prophet : what saves a person from the Hell-Fire?
He  said: Belief in Allah.
I said: O Prophet of Allah, shall anything else be done alongside belief in Allah?
He  said: give a small portion of what Allah has given in (in charity).
I said: O Prophet of Allah, what if he is poor and can’t find anything to give (in charity).
He  said: let him enjoin the good and forbid the evil.
I said: what if he isn’t able to enjoin the good and forbid the evil.
He  said: let him help the one who’s not able to work (due to disability, ill health, etc.)
I said: O Prophet of Allah, what if he’s (one of those) who is not able to work?
He  said: then let him help the oppressed.
I said: O Prophet of Allah, what if he’s weak, unable to help the oppressed?
He  said: don’t you want to leave any good for your companion to do, (then, in the case he can’t do that (help the oppressed), then let him hold back his harm from the people.
I said: O Prophet of Allah, if he did that will he enter the Paradise.
He  said: any believer who does anyone of these actions except that it (the action) will take by his hand until it admits him into the Paradise.
Sahih At-Targheeb, Hadith No: 876
May Allah ﷻ protect us from his punishment in this life and the next.
