Post-match press conference with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta after his side’s 1-0 win against Everton in the Premier League at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Viktor Gyokeres scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after Jake O’Brien was penalised for handball. Arteta is pleased with the result and big parts of the performance against a difficult, well organised Everton side that can make games chaotic.

He reflects on Arsenal’s big second half chances to score again, says the margins could have been bigger, and praises Declan Rice for his all around play, leadership and consistency.

Arteta also explains the players decided the penalty taker on the pitch, speaks about controlling tempo and ball speed, and insists the team must keep improving as they go again in a busy period.
