Wolfenstein 3D Episode 6, Floor 10 - The hardest level of all? [100% I am Death incarnate]

Episode 6: Confrontation, Floor 10 of Wolfenstein 3D.

The secret floor of episode 6 is often said to be the hardest in the entire game. I can agree with that because it's long and there are sections where small mistakes can be fatal. However, it's still a fun level to play because it's challenging but fair. It can be played in a way that the enemy movements are predictable. The easiest way is to fire a shot at the door of each section and shoot everyone who comes to you. After that there are fewer wandering enemies, and it is easier to get rid of those who don't leave their position.

This level certainly has its quirks. It's divided into four sections, three if which have Hans Grosse (or more specifically Hans' brothers Mans, Pans and Fans), and you must defeat at least one of them to get the key to the exit. It's also the only level where all enemies appear (except Fake Hitler and the bosses).

Section 4 is a maze full of mutants and officers, but you can't get a key from there. Instead, if contains most of the secrets, extra lives and a Pac-Man ghost! 14 of the 17 secrets on the floor are in this section, but the catch is that you can only open 12 of them. Some of them also have no purpose other than to confuse you.

I played the level in order that I found the easiest because it provides you a lot of ammo from the beginning and you leave the level with full health and ammo. If you want to play it safe, pick up only 2 of the 3 extra lives in section 4 and take the last one on your way out. That way you'll exit with full health even if the ghost touches you. I also disposed of the two mutants in the exit elevator between the two sections so that I wouldn't have to waste ammo on them at the end.
