हैचरी से फार्म पर एक दिन का चूज़ा आता है, चूजे 72 घंटे तक बिना खाए पिए रह सकते हैं। फार्म में चूज़ो को लाने के बाद उन्हें सबसे पहले सैनिटाइज किया जाता है। शुरुआत के एक हफ्ते तक उसे अधिक तापमान में रखा जाता है, जैसे बढ़ते जाते हैं, मुर्गी फार्म का तापमान घटाया जाता है। फार्म में वो 34-35 दिनों में तैयार हो जाते हैं।

अक्टूबर से नवंबर के महीने में लगभग 32 दिनों में दो किलो तक वजन हो जाता है; जबकि गर्मियों में 35-38 दिन भी लग जाते हैं। इस दौरान वो तीन किलो के लगभग फीड खाते हैं। बाज़ार में माँग के हिसाब से मुर्गे जैसे तंदूरी चिकन के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाले चिकन का वजन 1000-1200 ग्राम होता है; तो ये 24-25 दिनों में तैयार हो जाते हैं। अगले दस दिनों में वो दो किलो तक हो जाता है।
