1. Select a Healthy Branch
Choose a 1–2 year old guava branch (about pencil thickness). It should be disease-free and actively growing.

2. Make a Ring Cut (Girdling)
About 30–40 cm from the tip of the branch, remove a ring of bark (1–2 cm wide).
Scrape gently to expose the cambium layer so roots can form.

3. Apply Aloe Vera Gel
Take fresh Aloe vera leaf, scoop out the gel, and apply it on the exposed cut.Aloe vera works as a natural rooting hormone and protects against infection.

4. Prepare the Rooting Cup
Take a used ice-cream cup (or any small plastic cup).Fill it with moist soil mixed with compost/cocopeat. Cut the cup vertically so it can be fitted around the branch.

5. Fix the Cup on the Branch
Place the soil-filled cup around the cut portion of the branch.Secure it tightly with plastic, tape, or grafting tape to prevent soil loss.

6. Moisture Maintenance
Cover the cup with clear plastic wrap to retain humidity.Poke a tiny hole for air circulation. Keep checking weekly; spray a little water if it dries.

7. Root Development
In 4–8 weeks, new white roots will appear inside the cup.Roots are visible if you use a transparent cup.

8. Separation & Planting
Once roots are well-developed, cut the branch just below the layered portion. Carefully remove the cup and transplant the rooted branch into a pot or field soil.ৎKeep it in shade for a few days before full sunlight.
