Preacher follows the journey of preacher Jesse Custer, a former bank robber living in the small town of Annville. When Jesse gains the power of the holy abomination Genesis, which enables him to override people's free will, he makes plans to bring the sinful town to God. Failing that, he, his girlfriend Tulip, and his vampire best friend Cassidy set off on a road trip to literally find God.
