Take 2: Kernza Harvest Recap 2024 - Some Notes for the Future

Описание к видео Take 2: Kernza Harvest Recap 2024 - Some Notes for the Future

I wanted to show how much threshing I was able to do with the combine and mention where the grain goes next, something I forgot to do in the earlier video.

My combine (a Deere 9560sts) final settings:
Rotor - 1000 rpm
Fan Speed - 300 cfm (achieved with the Slow Speed Fan Kit - Part No. BH84248)
Chaffer (top screen) - 6
Sieve (bottom screen) - 1
Concaves - 2
Small Wire Concaves installed

After rethreshing the grain using the above settings I reduced by 1/3 the volume of material that will eventually be sent to the seed cleaner before it is sold. The rethreshing also allowed the grain to flow freely through the augers and carts without bridging and plugging up.

From 24 acres there are about 350 bushels of grain, by volume, that will eventually be shipped to the seed cleaner. I've been told to expect that less than half of that material will be saleable grain. Another open question is the quality of what I've produced. I have no idea of the test weight or other food grade qualities.
