Weapons: Type A.

So what do we have here? Another XNA STG. For some reason, recording with FRAPS instantly made it switch to 30fps with frameskip. Something similar happened with Revolver360 but at least things remained far more fluid, almost as if it was expecting a video recording to be put online.

Anyway, Kimi Ga Mita Hikari Ni (You/Them have seen/saw the light 2) is the sequel of an already pretty obscure game.

Graphically, it looks pretty damn nice, especially in later stages. Musically... not so much. I'm pretty sure I heard some of these songs somewhere? Might be part of the free to use compendium? I can't be sure.

Anyway, this seems to stand middle ground between the shift from Touhou clones into Cave shooters. In fact, it appears to take... the worst of both worlds.

Not happy with your usual lot of flying maids and lolis, it adds a chain counter, and it ties it to your weapon power up/level. Crimzon Clover did the same but the powering up was an excuse, by the middle of the freaking first level you already had full power as it was intended!

So, yes, you have to submit yourself to a very strict and unforgiving DoDonPachi-like chaining, vital for scoring and vital to keep your power up. The same could be said of Mars Matrix but at least there you were in Mars and cubes were easy to come by.

There is a special magic that will slow down all bullets and let you maneuve easily or just freeze them in place when you are about to kill something big so you can turn them into point items. Don't do what I do here.

Still, the chain metter and the fact that you HAVE to score well to power up or face prompt extermination make this very frustrating. Add to that some pretty yawn inducing bosses with some very nasty attacks and you have a recipe for chaos.

I think the worst offenders are the power system tied to the chaining mechanics/forcing to get as many points as possible and the inherently terrible initial gun. I don't know, but the fusion between Touhou and Cave was probably a mistake. I really dislike this kind of chaining...

To conclude: it's not horrible or anything, just highly frustrating thanks to the chaining. And the magic could've at least made the bullets go the opposite way, explode or something flashy.
