Syncopated Half-Time Shuffle - 71BPM / 80 BPM

It's been a busy month. Two festivals with ‪@OkapiMusic‬, plus peak cover band season, has meant that I've had no time at all for producing drum loops. But after a much needed rest last week, I've done a little catching up.

So here's a syncopated half time shuffle I recorded in June, keeping the stripped back Kick/Snare/Hat set up. I wanted a bit more open sound for this one, so I placed my room mic way out in the corridor. Heavily dampened snare with lots of verb. I'm quite pleased with the result.

I've also decided to release this one at two different tempos. I've always loved how such a small change in tempo, in this case only 9BPM, can drastically change the sound and feel of a groove.
