Which is better, a simple logo or a meaningful logo? 🤔

Turns out, they’re not mutually exclusive. You can do both…but it’s pretty tricky 🫠

I always strive to make each of my logo designs simple so they’re as scalable, memorable and functional as possible.

But I also want to communicate my client’s message - their story, values or personality 😖

Finding this middle ground can be tough.

It’s either really simple but generic or tells a great story through loads of detail 😮‍💨

One way I’ve found to get around this is to design the logo initially with all the bells and whistles on it to communicate the story.

Then, strip as much detail away as you can until you’re juuuuust about to remove the story and stop.

This should land you in a pretty good place between simplicity and meaning 🤩

I used this method with the project in this video - it started hella detailed and was refined and refined until I landed on this wicked flag/progress mark.
