Summer gardens can get messy fast, especially by the time we reach August! In this video, I’m taking you along as I tackle a big garden clean-up day (because it finally was only in the 80s and not 90s or 100s outside!).

From pruning back overgrown plants and dealing with pest infestations, to trellising runaway tomato vines and adding fresh compost, this is step one in getting my beds back in shape before we plant for the fall season.

I’ll show you the not-so-pretty parts of gardening (yes, even the diseased kale and smushed cherry tomatoes) and share some of my real-life decisions about what’s worth growing when time is short. You’ll also see how a little clean up and compost can transform a messy summer garden into a space ready for new growth.
