Nick Norton with Carlo Tapia - Greengate Hotel Killara 14 Aug 2022

Carlo Tapia, our son-in-law, is a well-known bass player in Sydney. Before settling in Australia about 15 years ago he was a founding member of the top Philippines band Freestyle.

Last Sunday he was booked for an afternoon gig at the Greengate Hotel in Killara. And he was playing with Nick Norton.

So, who’s Nick Norton I asked?

Well, it just happens he’s a bit of a legend. He was an original member of the iconic Australian rock group, the Angels. These days he’s described online as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter.

So, we decided to go have a look at Nick and Carlo, and we’re so pleased we did. The Greengate turned out to be a welcoming family hotel with a friendly crowd, and the music was thoroughly entertaining.

Nick sang and played the guitar, and Carlo accompanied on bass.
