During a visit to a community centre in Bradford, the Duchess of Cambridge met with a knitting group and said she “tried knitting” after the birth of her first child but only got halfway as it “looked so terrible”.

Meeting the teacher of the knitting group, she joked “I needed you to help” with the project. Joined by William, Duke of Cambridge, the visit wraps up their first public appearance since Monday’s crunch meeting at Sandringham.
