We JUST finished driving the Alaska Highway and we can confidently say it was the most epic adventure we have ever been on! Never have we seen such insane, vast, and unique landscapes all along one drive.

🚐 Day 1 of the Alaska Highway as you can see is not super exciting - but hey we want to be super transparent so you know EXACTLY what to expect when you drive this one day!

➡️ Our pro tip for the beginning of the Alaska Highway is to push through to Tetsa River Lodge just like we did because trust us.. you will want to spend your time exploring the epic places to come!

🏕️ There are a ton of campgrounds dispersed along this first leg - most are around $20 CAD and you must pay cash so make sure you pull some out before leaving Dawson Creek.

🚿 One thing to note - unless you are staying at lodges or RV parks, prepare to not shower for multiple days at a time 🙃 Our big tip is to visit RV parks along the way and see if they will let you pay to use their showers without staying there. Most places will!

💧Our last tip for today - prepare for rain & lots of it. We dealt with rain almost every day during the Alaska Highway road trip - whether it was a quick sprinkle or an all day downpour. That’s just how it goes out here 🤷‍♀️
