As someone who endured a decade in the family court system (in pro se) and, successfully protected my children, I often feel frustrated that there is a disconnect between what survivors are taught in the Domestic Violence (DV) communities and the harsh realities of the family court system. Much of the advice given can have a devastating impact on family court cases.
