Maytag Neptune Dryer squeak fix (and a surprise bad wire)

So back in 2005 we bought the pair of Maytag Neptune washer/dryer to replace the originals that came with the condo...that were likely from the 1980's.

They worked mostly pretty well this entire time, until the last 6 months or so when the dryer started squeaking when it ran. So rather that buy new ones which likely would not be as robust as the old ones...I bought replacement parts to try and fix it.

As you will see in the video, (or already saw if you watched it before reading this) that process mostly went ok until I realized the new replacement shafts that I bought were already rusted in the new bag (parts made in 07/24). So I did not use those...I contacted the company I bought them from and they will look at sending me replacements...which I may not install as I really do not want to take it back apart again. As I was doing the final clean up in preparation to close it all back up....I noticed a surprise...a fried wire going to the heating section. So I got to figure out and make a new replacement wire for there. The new wire should be safer than the bad one. Hopefully it will be fine.

At least it no longer squeaks.
