Chembarambakkam lake is a lake located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, about 25 km from Chennai. It is one of the two rain-fed reservoirs from where water is drawn for supply to Chennai City, the other one being the Puzhal Lake. The Adyar River originates from this lake.

A population of cranes, pelicans, ducks and other waterfowls live in this lake and the surrounding forests. The lake hosts hundreds of ducks and ducks fly freely in the lake. Several varieties of ducks and geese as well as other migratory birds frequently come to the lake during winter season.

When full, Chembarambakkam Lake can hold an estimated 430 million liters of water and is one of the biggest lakes in the Chennai region. Despite its size, the water level has decreased significantly in the last few years, primarily due to increase in groundwater level. During the '60s, the lake, which was spread over a large area, contained around 40 million gallons of water and was very shallow and calm, attracting birdwatchers.
