During the 2023 City of Perth Salute, held on Sunday 6th August 2023 at North Inch in Perth, Eve Muirhead and the rest of the GB Olympic Gold Medal Women's Curling team were awarded the Freedom of the city of Perth. The award was made by the Provost of Perth & Kinross Council Xander McDade and Council leader Grant Laing.

This followed their success at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, where the British team overcame Japan 10-3 in the final. Britain's team at the Games was skipped by Eve Muirhead OBE, with Vicky Wright MBE, Jennifer Dodds MBE, Hailey Duff MBE and Mili Smith MBE forming the successful group. Muirhead and Smith are from Blair Atholl and Guildtown, respectively, which are both within Perth and Kinross Council's area.
