The Europe trip continues! After our stops in the UK and a flight over to Budapest, a train to Austria, and a rental car pick up we had a spontaneous road trip down to Northern Italy. We had 48 hours and a TON to see! Our first stop took is to the small mountain village of Mühlbach, right outside the Italian Dolomites, where we stayed for the night and proceeded into the mountains the next morning for our hike.

We then drove on a tollroad to Rifugio Auronzo, a hut located in the Dolomites (at the trailhead for the ever-popular Tre Cime di Lavaredo hike) and began our own small hike to the Cadini di Misurina Viewpoint, which turned out to be the most incredible sight I'd ever seen. Unfortunately we had to go on - otherwise I could have spent weeks exploring the Dolomites (and we will!!).

Hard to follow that one up but our day took us next to Venice, Italy where we stayed in a hostel and spent the evening exploring the many canals, boats, bridges and restaurants of the city. An incredible day which was my very favorite from the entire trip overseas. Venice, we will be back one day.

The final day on our journey took us to Trieste, Italy, where Chris spent time on exchange in his youth. We had so much fun exploring all his old stomping grounds and reminiscing, as well as spending some time by the ocean. But, we had to leave shortly thereafter for our next stop -- CROATIA (coming soon!)

Lots of pizza, pasta, wine, bread, coffee, and beer were consumed and an amazing time was had by all :)
