Fish Tales (Williams 1991) - VPW - VPX / Visual Pinball X - Super Jackpots!

I've played Fish Tales a lot over the years, especially as it was one of the first Pinball FX3 Williams tables. It took me a long time to figure out with Classic Arcade physics how to get enough control to lock balls and score super jackpots. In the process, I also figured out that there is a lot more going on, on the table with e.g. long casts and captive ball awards. You would think that I would be sick of the table by now, but trust me, this VPW version plays so intuitively well that you just can't put it down. It also looks absolutely gorgeous and with fleep sounds and Idigstuff's completely reorchestrated altsound, it sounds amazing. Well done VPW!

This game was short and sweet and demonstrates how well it plays and how much control you have with physics that was painstakingly tuned to realistic perfection. I had a great multiball to get my jackpots and then scored a bunch of super jackpots. I even managed to restart the multiball with one of the captive ball awards. I specifically started the game prioritized long casts before locking balls so that I could capitalise on the captive ball awards. I sadly did fluff the end of the game up as I got nervous for some or other silly reason going for the extra ball. I should have gone for the video mode extra ball or just locked the last ball for my next multiball... ah well.

My basic aim with any tips and strategy gameplay video I post is to help the viewer improve his skill in the game and on the specific table. I do this by identifying the safest and most efficient strategy to follow to play through the modes and to reach and beat the wizard mode. This is admittedly not always the most efficient way to achieve a high score, but once you understand the table, including which shots and modes are worth it or not, it puts you in the position where you can concentrate on what you have identified as the best approach to reaching a high score.
