It's the night after Halloween Havoc 2000 and Scott Steiner believes he should be WCW Champion. After what happened at the pay per view, Scott decides he should get another opportunity at the gold tonight on Nitro, so Mike Sanders adds Steiner to the Booker T vs Mike Awesome main event. A brand new WCW CEO also gets introduced, and the new CEO decides to bring Lex Luger back on a full-time basis.

On WWF Raw this week The Rock faces Chris Jericho; the winner of this match will get a WWF title opportunity at Smackdown this week. Edge is celebrating his birthday with Kurt Angle, Christian and Stephanie McMahon, but Stephanie has to leave early due to feeling unwell. With Steph out of the picture, Triple H decides to get revenge on Kurt Angle.
