The topic of water changes is truly a fluid one. There are about as many opinions on the subject of water changes as there are fish keepers. How much, how often and why we do them at all are all subject to debate. However, we all agree (at least most of us) that water changes are a vital part of maintaining a healthy box of water with thriving fish. But how do we dial in the best water change routine for our fish? Every situation is unique. One size DOES NOT fit all! Add to this that your circumstances are often changing. Less fish, more fish, fish growth, changes in filtration, feeding, maintenance routine and more should all have an impact on how you do your water changes. But many keep on the same schedule, the same percentages, regardless of changes in their tank. In this video I provide you with some of my tips that will help to ensure that your water change routine in right for your unique circumstances.
