NDOT is resurfacing sections of I-80, I-580 and U.S. 395 for a smoother and safer drive.

Beginning in May 2018 through next fall, NDOT will resurface Interstate 80 from Keystone Avenue west to the Nevada-California state line.

NDOT will make interstate ramps safer by lengthening some on-ramps. NDOT will also add flashing warning signs and detection systems to I-80 ramps west of Reno to help stop potentially deadly wrong-way crashes.

Through this fall, NDOT will replace certain sections of older concrete roadway and fill and seal minor cracking in other segments on I-580 and U.S. 395 from just south of the spaghetti bowl to north McCarran.

Ultimately, both projects will make interstate travel through the metro Reno area smoother and safer.

NDOT wants to keep travel smooth across the Truckee Meadows- so most of the road work will take place overnight. Drivers will see overnight lane closures, with some periodic ramp closures and daytime road shoulder closures, but the interstates will remain open.
