We’ve been in the sales industry for well over two decades, and we’ve been perfecting our delivery since day 1. Of course, we start by asking ourselves “what can we do better?” - and slowly, our sales perspective began to change.

Cold calling can be nerve wracking! Why? The fear of the unknown. Am I going to piss this person off by bothering them during the day? Are they going to think I’m stupid? Will they hang up?

No. We had to change the way we approached these situations. Instead of going straight for the negative, we started asking ourselves “how can I help them?” “How can we confirm a need?” “If they’re annoyed, how can we positively change their perception?” “We know they don’t want to be pitched, so how do we get their attention?”

Empathy. The root of cold calling success, is empathy. How can you fulfill their needs? Well, you have to know what their needs are of course! Sometimes, you’ll find that a client doesn’t know what their needs truly are until you talk it out. Which leads us to - YOUR VOICE.

Have you noticed your inflections during a conversation? Do you tend to sound annoyed, rushed, or disinterested? It’s a true skill to perfect this. 9/10 times, if you sound pompous, rushed, or disinterested, that’s how the other end will react as well.

UPWARD inflections are your BEST FREIND! Make your cold call the best conversation of your potential clients day. Cold calls have become all too predictable… & that’s why you have to hone in on the EXPERIENCE of the call! How can you make their day better?
