O Earth, Loving Mother was composed and arranged for choirs by Mark Sirett, and was adapted from the Canadian poet Archibald Lampman’s “Voices of the Earth” (1895).

It is an ode to Mother Earth, which sustains and nurtures us. Yet we are
also reminded that all of nature is finite and fragile. Thus, we need to protect it so that future generations will enjoy its beauty, wisdom and light.

For this virtual choir project, we joined our friends from the Manila Chamber Singers, based in the Philippines. It's been an honor to share this undertaking with like-minded individuals who celebrate Mother Earth’s gifts to us, as well as music that transcends distance, culture, race and creed.
