Katherine West dives into examining the impact of algorithms driving the media to which we are exposed, ranging from internet searches to viewing choices on sites like Netflix. Algorithms not only remove the ability to choose from a larger swath of available choices, but more importantly, they hinder serendipitous discoveries that could broaden perspectives in our lives.
Katherine West is a freshman at Lake Travis High School. She enjoys reading, traveling, and hanging out with her friends. She focuses on academics and wants to attend a business school.
