We stayed at Orrest View Cottage, IS IT WORTH IT? Family staycation in Windermere, The Lake District

Staycation review for 5 days at a dog friendly cottage in Windermere. The location was fantastic, around 15 minutes walk from the centre of Windermere and around a 20 minute walk to Bowness. There's plenty of activities around the area. While we were there, we went to Grizedale Forest, which we all love, especially Luna (see Luna cam footage for how much she loves it!)and it only costs the price of the parking. Cathedral Cave, which is spectacular and completely free. We hired a boat from Bowness Bay Marina, which was £65 for 5 of us and the dog, for 2 hours (we had to pay an additional £60 deposit which was refunded on return of the boat). Finally, we took our paddle boards to Lake Windermere, which again, only cost the price of car parking. Probably the most expensive thing was food and drink, which is expected on a self catering holiday for a family of 5, especially as the two boys eat as much as adults.
