Jiddu Krishnamurti and Osho Rajneesh both look at the questions of God and religion differently from the traditional view.

Krishnamurti says that man imagined "God" because he is afraid, insecure. When we ask why God does not stop rape, we actually put our responsibility on some invisible power. But the reality is that the power to stop rape lies only within man, in his awareness. If society gives birth to violence and lust, then it is the failure of our own sanskaars and system.

Osho's view is even deeper. He says, "God is not a person who interferes in events." He considers existence to be a huge energy, which gives freedom. If God starts stopping every evil, then man's freedom will end. Then love, compassion, virtue - everything will become compulsion. Goodness is meaningful only when there is an opportunity to do evil. Osho says, “To stop rape, don’t blame God, change your consciousness. When love blossoms within, violence will disappear.”

The conclusion of both thinkers is that the question is not with God, but with man. The problem is in our consciousness, our upbringing, our education and the structure of our society. Unless man changes himself, no divine power will intervene.

So the true answer is this: instead of blaming God, we have to change ourselves. When man becomes conscious, rape, violence and injustice will end automatically.
