Mivan shuttering is a fast-paced construction technique which offers strength and durability to a building by use of aluminium formworks,

Speed of construction mainly depends upon economy required and the construction period of the project. Various work cycles are achievable such as 3, 4,6, 8 or 10 day slab cycles are possible. However, the 4-day cycle is most preferred.

Mivan formwork can be reused up to 250 times. Given that it is made of concrete, Mivan construction does not require builders or homeowners to spend much on its maintenance either

Earth resistance of these structures is also higher than regular ones. Apartments in Pallavaram Radial Road being built by Alliance Group has an expected lifetime of 99 years owing to this strength and quality in construction. The finishing on the resulting structures is always smooth in this construction method.

MIVAN technology can be basically stated as an as aluminum formwork system, which has been developed by one of the eminent construction companies from Europe. During the 1990s, such formwork was used by the Mivan Company Ltd from Malaysia (where a large number of multistory buildings are constructed.

Steps In Mivan Shuttering Construction
Setting–up The Wall Reinforcing Steel. This is the first and foremost step in the procedure. ...
Placing The Formwork. Once the steel mesh is erected, the shuttering plates or the forms are placed.
Casting Structural Elements With Concrete. ...
Deshuttering The Formwork.

The small concrete step used at the bottom of walls or columns, a column kicker's main job is to make sure that the coordinates are maintained between floor slabs. Column kickers are only used at the position where walls and columns are constructed

In case of the superstructure, Mivan construction method incurs Rs 10 crore for structuring the building. However, the traditional method would cost around Rs 7 crore. As mentioned above, Mivan technology has an edge over conventional formwork in terms of the construction cycle.

Smooth Finish – Mivan construction ensures uniformity, hence all walls and slabs have a smooth finish which means additional plastering is not needed. Higher Carpet Area – it gives the scope to take out more carpet area in comparison to traditional construction techniques

 Mivan construction offers Joint less construction which gives better resistance in earthquake.  It provides good durability and stability.  It is mostly used in mass construction and group housing.  It gives smooth and precise finishing of wall and slabs

From all the results it is found that Mivan buildings are very effective in resisting the lateral forces induced by earthquake. Because of the box effect of modular type scheme, it is increasing overall stiffness of the building thus, reducing the sway problem in the structure.

Mivan is a quality aluminum structure developed by a European construction company known as Mivan Company Ltd. In 1990, the company from Malaysia began manufacturing these formwork systems. This innovative form of work is actually suitable for constructing houses in large quantities at a faster speed.
