Religious leader barred from landing in Umroi airport

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati Maharaj and his team who were planning to visit Shillong on Saturday to demand for a ban on cow slaughter were barred from landing in Shillong from Agartala Airport.

Earlier, a large number of members of pressure groups protested at Umroi Airport.

The religious leader, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati Maharaj and his team eventually returned to Guwahati and have vowed to take legal recourse in the matter.
