This video discusses several cases of disappearances and unsolved murders in Humboldt County, Northern California, an area infamous for illegal marijuana cultivation, organized crime, and violence.

The first case is about Chris Robert Giaque, who disappeared in 2003 after leaving his vehicle at a meeting spot to pick up a substantial amount of cash. His pickup truck was later found far from where he was last seen, but his body has never been located.

The second case is about Garrett Rodriguez, who disappeared in 2013 while working for a notorious grower in the area. His remains were found in a shallow grave in 2013, and it was revealed that the manner of his death was homocide.

The third case is about Sheila Franks, who disappeared in 2014 near Murder Mountain. She was reportedly involved in the illegal marijuana industry and in a romantic relationship with a man with a criminal record. Her case remains unsolved.

The fourth case is about Jeffrey Joseph, who was reported missing in July 2014 after a road trip to Humboldt County to purchase marijuana. Despite extensive searches by authorities and a private investigator hired by his family, neither Joseph nor his vehicle have been located. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance suggest he may have stumbled upon an illegal drug operation or been involved in a drug deal gone bad, but there have been no solid leads or suspects identified in the case.

The fifth case takes place In 2016, when Jeffrey Settler, a marijuana grower, was killed by seven hired trimmers who fled with 100 pounds of marijuana. Settler was beaten and stabbed in a dispute over payment. One suspect surrendered at the border, and six others were arrested in different locations. Michael Andrew Kane was sentenced to 14 years in prison for Settler's voluntary manslaughter by hatchet. The other six co-defendants were also sentenced. The Settler family delivered "moving statements" at the sentencing. The case served justice for Settler's murder, but it didn't solve the crime and sadness surrounding Murder Mountain.
