Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. attempts to explain his new political party's philosophy on a television show, only to be constantly interrupted and provoked by a combative right-wing host in this sharp satirical scene from The Boondocks Season 1 Episode 9, "The Return of the King." Frustrated by the host's taunts ("Why can't liberals ever answer that question with a simple yes?"), Huey Freeman takes matters into his own hands, throwing a chair at the host and assaulting him on live television!

After the chaotic TV appearance, King and Huey decide to go "old fashioned," hitting the streets to spread their message. However, their efforts are undermined when King, aiming to leverage modern media, hires an "urban promotions firm." This backfires spectacularly as the firm advertises their serious "emergency action planning meeting" as a "party" on a pop music radio station, complete with "Thugin' Luv" playing in the background. The clip brilliantly lampoons media sensationalism, political messaging, and the hilarious disconnect between King's earnest intentions and the realities of modern promotion.
