The journey begins just here and with you
Hi all, this is our first try on the crowd funding platforms and it's absolutely exciting.
To be very clear, we are today on Indiegogo because we think that big things cannot happen without a big community. And with your support we are going to make DefenDoor a big thing.
We already made a huge amount of work on the game and we still need time. And as you know, time is money.
We want you to be part of the success of our incredible journey.
About the team: We are a team of video game lovers and players. DigitalMania, our HQ is based in Tunisia and it was for us a big challenge to start our company (The first one of this kind in the region). We started learning how to do video games, self teaching, in 2010 and today DefenDoor is our biggest production.
After some work on serious games, advergames and mobile games, we planned to do a massive social game on Facebook: This game is DefenDoor. This is very challenging and we are very excited.
The idea of Defendoor
We just wanted a game where every kind of gamer: pro and casual can meet, in a unique game experience :
Funny gameplay, where skilled players can show their talent (easy to play, hard to master)
Cute characters and environments
As a Free to play game we wanted to respect our community, that's why we decided that the payers will not have a competitive advantage, they will just look better, more fancy and more show off :)
The concept :
Welcome to Zorbia, a far away universe where playing and gambling is the only occupation. This universe is ruled by 7 Gurus and every Guru is the landlord of a mini planet : The Arena where you will fight.
The gurus are very special characters, they like playing, they are impatient and more than all they like betting money ;)
DefenDoor is the game created by the gurus and your goal will be to defend your door while trying to destroy your opponent's door.
To do that you can count on the help of the ZORBS. Every zorb is unique in his movements and attack. Moreover, you will take control of a weapon to help your zorbs invade the enemy.
About The founder :
walid Sultan MIDANI, working in the video game industry since 2004
2004 - 2009 : Video games events and competition organizer in Tunisia, France, Czech republic, Turky and USA.
2009 - Now : Founding DigitalMania and building the first team developing video games in the region
"I'm an IT Engineer and a young entrepreneur (29 year Old) with 8 years of experience in the video games industry. In 2004 with some friends we decided to organize the first video games tournament in Tunisia and guess what ? Nobody supported us ! But our first event was a success (450 gamers and 2500 spectators) and the most successful event in Tunisia was in 2008 for the Electronic Games Tunisian Cup - CTJV, we had 1200 competitors and 15000 spectators.
Thanks to the experience gathered in organizing e-sports events, video games competitions but also playing. I now know what a pro gamer and also a casual gamer expects from a game.
So in 2009, I spent a year learning by my self how to develop games and after that I started building a team that will help me to achieve this.
Today, like 8 years ago, nobody supported us.(And they were wrong)
And today, like 8 years ago, we will show to everybody that everything is possible thanks to the community.
What We Need & What You Get
Our first goal of being in indiegogo today is to start to create a nice community. We made DefenDoor to share with you our crazy ideas and we want you to be part of this.
For example : You can come to our headquarters in Tunis, spend 1 week with us and you will work hand to hand with our creative director on creating a new zorb, a new weapon and a new door.
To be conrete today we need more time to develop DefenDoor.
The 100.000 $ will give us time to :
Enhance the game and make it we designed it
Do better graphics and animations in a very short time by making the team bigger
Do nice music and sound effects
And because we want you to be millions playing together in the same time we want to ensure the security and the scalability of the game by hosting it in a reliable and secure environment (Secure Cloud).
If we have less we :
Will continue developping the game with and doing our best with the actual resources and with the help of the energy transmitted by the ones who believed in us
Will release the game a bit later
If we have more we will :
Launch the development of the mobile version (We want DefenDoor to be a cross platform game)
Do a nice and big communication campaign
A big event somewhere in the earth where we ll play and have a nice party all together.
