This is a dramatic reading of "Constructing Linear Field Equations for Gravity", a blog by the Stand-Up Physicist available at Science20.com. A talk with the same title was given at the 14th Eastern Gravity Meeting at Princeton, June 3, 2011.

We live in almost flat space, so a perturbation of flat spacetime should make a good approximation of much of the Universe. When we focus on certain types of solutions, the resulting field equations look much like the Maxwell equations. In fact, they are so similar to the Maxwell equations, they only make sense if there are two types of mass charges. This is a problem known to physicists who refer to gravitomagnetism as toy theory. I call it a broken toy theory.

As a counter proposal, I use hypercomplex rules of multiplication to generate the Lagrange density. From there I generate the field equations in the usual way. The resulting equations have 50% of the sins flipped. That makes the equations distinct from the Maxwell equations.

If the Higgs boson is found, then my work is wrong and I will not attend the 15th Eastern Gravity Meeting. If the Higgs boson is not found, my work still has a chance to be right.
