SUMMARY:
(holds for all hexplore it products)

1. scale opponent health (not vitals) by hero and game difficulty.
opponent health = oppo *h/5 (starter), * h/4 (easy) ,..., *h (heroic), *2h (epic);
opponent energy & mastery cost = times game difficulty (1-6);
(add level and game difficulty to the vitals).

2. auto game difficulty:
game start: split Power Up stack in 3 parts; flip bottom card of each part faceup, make 1 full stack;
in-game: when discarding slide card facedown on bottom of stack;
draw power up card: if faceup, increase game difficulty;
after the 3rd increase you keep playing on heroic.

3. adaptive quests:
only draw quests that are on the map;
the what was that/bezzelquark on the bottom;
Add cards if map enlarges during gameplay, then shuffle draw deck.

4. adaptive encounters:
N vs NE cards. fill bar such that F E cards, F=#FC;
hex = discard pile = initially empty. Refill N/NE from discard;
Encounter dangerous if on its habitat.

5. DK & FC
DK appears on ruin, not city, with an initial speed of 1;
DK not appear = blocker on quest deck;
already FC: range increases when a new city falls;
moving into hex covered within FCR = Energy drain;
Ability rank penalty = #FC.

6. true solo:
card refers to another hero = interpret as yourself;
card refers to any ally = yourself OR if with escort/pet, that ally.
you start with 48 gold, half food, and 3 power up cards.
