Sometimes pain that presents as carpal tunnel syndrome can be coming from the elbow, shoulder, or neck, so check with your doctor or physical therapist and get a proper diagnosis, especially if traditional treatment is not helping.

Stretching the wrist area on the palm side, or the wrist flexors, is a great way to loosen up the muscles and tendons that run through the carpal tunnel. This can be done with a prayer stretch as well as a wrist flexor stretch which can be increased in intensity by stretching the thumb as well.

Gliding the finger tendons can help break up adhesions that might form in the carpal tunnel area. This helps increase circulation to the area and move out inflammation that might be causing scar tissue.

Gliding the median nerve can also be helpful in breaking up adhesions and improving general movement.
