Raga Yaman is the quintessential Indian Classical Raga which is also the roughly the Lydian mode of western music. In this Raga there is a sense of romance which is associated with evening and romance of perhaps going out and exploring the possibilities of the evening. In this Raga the two maestros Purbayan Chatterjee and Rakesh Chaurasia along with Tabla Masters Satyajit Talwalkar and Ojas Adhiya have played a Bandish a composition said to the rhythmic cycle of 7 beats of Rupak Taal and they have playfully interacted with each other in this composition to bring out the essence of RAGA YAMAN MADHYA LAYA
