What women need to know about investing. How to grow your investment

Описание к видео What women need to know about investing. How to grow your investment

I am so very glad to see more and more women taking control of their financial life, financial decisions, investing and how to grow investments and your nestegg.

Surprising statistics about women:
• A study shows that on average women earn a better return than men on their investment’s portfolio.
• Women take less investment risks than men.
• More women than man will ask for professional advice and financial plan to reach her goals.

Financial independence is important for many women. And for those women looking to seek a life of prosperity and build wealth, having the right investing skills is the key.
Many women may think they lack the knowledge, but as I explained in my previous video, once a woman makes a decision to concentrate on her finance and start investing for her future, most women consistently outperform investment returns of men by a considerable margin.

So how women approach investing?
In terms of saving and investing, in general women don't make decisions in the same way men do.
Women will start "creating their wealth" by first adding funds to a Savings Account to create a "rainy day" account for emergencies. This is consistent with a conservative approach to money and preference of security, but it is also what I as the financial planner recommend to every client.
Women's focus often is on her career, family and the need for self-care, therefore investments need to be included as part of her overall views of the world and life - this is often more important than beating the benchmark.

Women are less driven by processes and results, but rather women are more relational with their money.
Those are the main points women should understand or follow
1. Master your Personal Finance - Money Management - understanding choices of your Bank Account, Money Market, your Net Worth, Cash flow, your tax bracket position is a necessity if you want to create financial security and prosperity in life and for your future in later years.
2. Understand compound interest and time value of money.
The earlier you invest, the more wealth you can accumulate. That's because compound interest allows you to earn interest on money invested. And then interest is being earned on your re-invested interest.

Listen to the perfect example of Mary and Susan.

This is the power of compound interest - when money and time have been combined to your advantage.

Let me know in comments below the video – was the difference in portfolio value between Mary and Susan a surprise for you or not? Was that example an eye opener and a bit of a shock for you?
I wish I knew that when I was 20.

3. It's important to commit to your investment strategy.
Your investment portfolio needs to be personalised to your needs with a strategy to suit your situation. It should take into account your personal goals, objectives, risk profile, tax bracket and the time you can commit to continue investing within your portfolio.
Your portfolio will fluctuate in value and returns from year to year, but in times like this, it's important not to panic. Stick to your long-term plan and our goal.
As long as your investing is done intelligently, you'll be fine. You can lose a lot of money if you sell off your assets for the wrong reason.

4. It also makes sense to seek the help of a financial professional.
A lot of women who recognise that managing investing is either not withing their interest, they find it very time consuming or just simply prefer security of professional care, will create a long-term relationship with a financial planner. Women more than man value high quality advice and care provided, and this is why I love working with women.
