.....Brief History.....

Sant Ravidas Ji commonly known as Bhagat Ravidas Ji (in Sikhism) was a poet, devotee, and a Gurmukh during the 13th century. He is one of the fifteen bhagats whose poetry is included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji i.e. 40 Shabads and 1 Salok.
*Guru Ravidas was born in a low caste family, people considered them as untouchables but this didn't affect Ravidas Ji.
*Ravidasi's treat Sant Ravidas Ji as their Guru and they have a seperate Sect from the mainstream Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs.
*Sikhs also follow the teachings of Bhagat Ravidas Ji.
*Guru Ravidas also met Guru Nanak Dev Ji when Ravidas Ji was about 100 years old and Ravidas Ji gave his bani to Guru Nanak Dev Ji. After that 5th Guru of Sikhism, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji added Guru Ravidas Gurbani in Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
*Apart from the Sikhs, Meera Bai, (the famous devotee of Lord Krishna), also regarded Guru Ravidasji as her spiritual Guru.
