I believe this L.P. really enables MIKE PACHECO to demonstrate his remarkable sense of rhythm. The tantalizing rhythms capture the ear immediately and hold your interest throughout the recording. Mike was with PEREZ PRADO for several years before migrating to the West Coast where he now records for Motion Pictures, T.V. and does a stint with Ray Anthony. His first album BONGO SESSION was a great success and is still one of the favorites L.P.'s of the bongo crowd. The tunes, or rather, rhythms, have been selected for pace, continuity and variety. Some of the tracks are long but this only adds color and interest because of the change of pace.

The conception and planning of the album should go mainly to Mike as he was instrumental in getting the material together, laying the time out and recording. I'm sure he spent many hours conceiving the recording in his mind, before the event actually took place. Mike was at a loss as to what titles we should use but I suggested that we use popular names of Latin American males and that each track would paint a picture of the personality of the given name. It seemed to work out nicely and the end result was gratifying.
