-Arm : Gone spin the motors.
-Modes : Give u choice off flight behavior, auto level , level but do flips, and all by u'r self steering.
-Recovery : 1 nothing, 2 beeper a sound to find it, 3 crashflip to turn the drone upside down again.
These u program in betaflight - modes tab.

An aux channel is just 1 digital line to communicate, u can have a value to command it. With u'r controller u send the drone command's to beep flip fly steer throttle OSD etc.
