AD - Invite. I travelled to the beautiful coast of Bournemouth to see this award-winning hotel that prides itself on its accessible facilities…

There are five accessible bedrooms which are lovely and spacious, with ceiling hoists, profiling beds, and more available on request. Each accessible room also has a lovely wetroom with grab rails, shower seats, and anything else you might need - you can easily notify the hotel about any access requirements as you’re booking and they’ll have the equipment you need all ready and waiting for you.

On a short wander around the hotel on my first day, I also discovered a really cool sensory room that was the perfect chill-out zone for anybody with sensory overload… and also one of the best Changing Places toilet facilities I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely HUGE.

They were also able to accommodate my multiple dietary requirements in their on-site restaurant and eateries, which is no small feat, and there were plenty of comfy communal spaces to settle down with a cuppa and a book.

But it has to be said, the absolute highlight of my stay was spending time at the outdoor pool - one of only five outdoor pools in the whole of Bournemouth. There’s access via a gentle slope so you can keep your mobility aids right next to you, and there are accessible toilets and a pool hoist for any guests who need it. I got so lucky with the weather during my trip and being by the poolside with stunning views of the sea in the distance truly made it hard to believe I was in the UK and not somewhere abroad!
