STORYLINE:
Security personnel and vehicles were seen outside the U.S. mission in Switzerland on Sunday as Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff travelled to the country for talks on Ukraine.

They were expected to meet a Ukrainian delegation, bolstered by representatives from France, Germany and the U.K., to discuss a blueprint drawn up by the U.S. to end the nearly four-year war.

The 28-point plan sparked alarm in Kyiv and European capitals, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying his country could face a stark choice between standing up for its sovereign rights and preserving the American support it needs.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s Army secretary Dan Driscoll was also expected to attend Sunday's talks in Geneva, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to publicly discuss the American participants before the meeting and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Driscoll presented the U.S. plan to Ukrainian officials this week.

Trump had set a deadline for Kyiv to respond to the plan by next Thursday.
