Old Guy Paramotoring-BGD Epic Motor 27 initial review

This is a new direction for me as I have tended to go with Advance wings as they have never disappointed. Other than the Advance Epsilon 9 hybrid (and Alpha 6), the company does not make many PPG oriented wings. A friend recommended that I try a BGD motor wing and so far I am not regretting it. It is beautiful and appears to be of an outstanding quality. It is a more motor oriented wing but also EN B certified for PG within the weight range and with trims fully in.

Though I didn’t mention it in the video I really like the feel of the brake handles.

I also went with the larger (27) size to help reduce both the length of the launch run and the speed of the landing. I am about in the middle ½ to ⅓ of the PPG weight range. As I have said many times, I am probably the most boring flying PPG pilot on the planet.

I did talk a bit about kiting in windy conditions which is NOT what I would fly in for PPG...and which is why I was not flying this day (it was also mid-day and thermally!)

My initial impressions are very good and I can’t wait to get it in the air!

Really happy that more parks and trails are open and also happy to see that people, at least in my area, are acting responsibly and literally “keeping their distance” and wearing a mask in more crowded areas.

Take care!
