The answer is yes, they actually really like to eat it and it's a great free resource that is readily available.
I like to place it under the worm blanket as it's great at storing moisture once it's damp.
Every time you soak you worm farm the newspaper soaks that up and keeps your compost worms moist.
It can also help cool down the farm in summer as it creates a cooling effect as it evaporates water.
In my opinion, if you use only newspaper as bedding, it wouldn't make as good casting as say, mushroom compost.
